Scientific Writing Workshop

Johnson Rooms, 3rd Floor, LEC

Lunch provided!

Presenter: Jesse Austin-Breneman, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering

Writing scientific papers effectively can be a difficult and time-consuming task. In this workshop, we will answer three main questions:
1) What is a scientific paper?
2) How do I write a scientific paper?
3) How do I write a scientific paper more efficiently?

Answering these questions will include instructions on how to write a scientific outline, identify a model paper, manage references, and identify stylistic considerations for a given discipline. The workshop will consist primarily of hands-on activities to practice identified approaches. The workshop will also focus on strategies for building a writing practice into your everyday academic life.

Sponsored by the CoE Office of Graduate Education.  Questions may be directed to Andria Rose,
