The College of Engineering New Graduate Student Welcome serves as the kick-off for the fall term. The event provides an introduction to graduate studies and life in the College of Engineering, and is complemented by the other orientation events listed below. The New Graduate Student Welcome is sponsored by the College of Engineering Office of Graduate Education.

Registration for incoming students to attend the CoE New Graduate Student Welcome is now closed.

2016 College of Engineering New Graduate Student Welcome Schedule (Tentative)

12:45              Report to assigned classroom (you will be notified of your location via email once you register)

1:00-2:00        First Michigan Challenge at CoE…Begin your U-M journey here!

2:00-2:20        Go to Stamps Auditorium (Walgreen Drama Center) Directions & Map

2:20-2:30        Associate Dean for Graduate Education Mary-Ann Mycek

2:30-2:45        Dean Alec Gallimore         

2:45-2:50        Competition Results & Engineering Graduate Symposium—Colleen Crouch

2:50-3:30        Graduate Student Life Panel

3:30-3:40        Walk through the Duderstadt Center to the South Lawn

3:40-4:30        Ice Cream Social with Department on South Lawn

6:30-8:30        Social Event at the Michigan Union, 530 S. State St., Ann Arbor Map & Floorplans 

 During this free event, light appetizers will be served in the Pendleton Room (on the second floor of the Michigan  Union), and across the hall in the UM Billiards Room, you can play pool, foosball, table tennis, Wii, and XBox.  This is a great opportunity to meet students from outside your department!
